What Buffy does for Chanterelle/Lily/Anne is absolutely incredible when you think that an apartment and a job got a woman who wasn’t good at taking care of herself to being in charge of a youth center in just a few seasons.

I know so many people have deconstructed this and thesparkinme has a great meta on it, but this is such a huge early Spuffy moment. She barely questions that he’s there to help. She knows he’ll back her up when she lies to her mom. She looks to him for support to tell her the truth. She trusts that he’ll back her up in the mansion and he trusts that she’ll keep her word and let them go.
